Corona tasks week 2
1. Finish reading "A time to kill". While reading, you can listen to the audios (fileexplorer/Lernportal)
2. Write a book review. Start with a short summary to give the readers an impression of what the book is about, but don't spoil the ending. Then write about your personal reading experience: Was it difficult or easy to read? Was it exciting, interesting, boring, shocking, etc.? What did you like about the novel? What didn't you like? Who is your favourite character? Why? Did you learn anything new? Would you recommend the easy reader for school? Why?/Why not? How many stars out of five would you give the novel? Why?
Upload your review to the fileexplorer or the Lernportal.
3. Choose one of the following characters: Jake Brigance, Carla Brigance, Ellen Roark, Carl Lee Hailey, Wanda Worniak, Rufus Buckley or Ozzie Walls. As this person, write a personal letter to a good friend telling him/her about the trial and your feelings/emotions during and after the trial. (Be careful, don't write a mere summary, in the letter the emotions are important.) Write 150 words or more. Instead of writing the letter, you can also simulate a telephone call and upload the audio.
Upload your letter to the fileexplorer or the Lernportal.
4. From important key words/expressions/sentences, create a wordart about the novel: https://wordart.com/
Upload your wordart as a picture to the padlet below.
5. Learn the vocabularies from the Wordfield "A time to kill" (1-71). There will be a vocabulary test on those words/expressions right after the holidays. To practise, play the Kahoot challenge: 0306592

Would you recommend reading the article to your classmates? Why?/Why not? (Instead of the written assignment, you can also do it orally and make a recording.) Upload your headings, summary and answers to the fileexplorer or Lernportal.
2. Do the listening comprehension about Nelson Mandela + the other tasks on the worksheet (download from fileexplorer or Lernportal). Post your 1-minute talk on the padlet below.

Corona tasks week 4
Dear students,
I hope you had - despite Corona - nice holidays and happy Easter and everybody is well and motivated to do some more English.
Probably the year 10 students will have at least some lessons at school beginning on 27th April, hopefully we will see each other then. Since the final exams will be a little later than originally planned, we will write a test before that with just reading and listening comprehension and a little use of language (like in the ZAP).
For you to practise for this test and for the ZAP, the tasks for this week are to take 4x45 minutes to read/listen to texts from the magazines and do the exercises ("Gate" is a little easier than "Bridge").
The audios are here:
http://bphi.de/zeitschrift-bridge/bridge-march-2020/
http://bphi.de/zeitschrift-gate/gate-march-2020/
http://bphi.de/zeitschrift-bridge/bridge-april-2020/
http://bphi.de/zeitschrift-gate/gate-april-2020/
After each 45 minutes, take 10-20 minutes to write a short feedback: Which articles did you read/exercises did you do? Was is easy or difficult? Was it interesting or boring? Which was your favourite/least favourite article? Why? What is the most interesting/strange/funny/curious piece of information that you remember from the articles? Upload all your feedbacks in one pdf until Friday, 24th April, 12 p.m.. Don't forget your name!
Have fun with the magazines! See you soon!
